A1 People Care is a Victoria based company providing home care and at home nursing support to individuals and senior’s residences throughout Greater Victoria since 1993.

Our goal is to provide a healthy, satisfying and safe environment in the home or senior’s residence that enables clients to maintain their independence and quality of life.

A1 People Care was started in 1993 by Fran Pelton, RN and her daughter Lori Ann. In 2005, after 12 years behind the scenes, Lori Ann Harsent took over the reins.

Today, Lori Ann and Dan Harsent lead their team of caregivers and medical staff to carry on the Fran's vision--"To Make Life Easier For You."

Ten Questions to Ask a Potential Home Care Agency

How long has the agency been in business?
Do they provide all levels of care, medical and non-medical? You may need non-medical care now, but that could change in the future.
Do the agency’s owners/managers hold the CPCA (Certified Professional Consultant on Aging) designation?
What kind of employee background screening is done?
Can the agency provide testimonials from other clients?
Does the agency have its own nurse(s)?
Will you constantly be getting a different caregiver?
Are there additional costs for travel time, mileage, administration, or in-home visits by supervisors?
Will the agency place a care plan/communication book in the home?
Can the family be involved? Will the agency communicate regularly with family?
